CTET Exam 2025

CTET Exam(Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is a national-level examination administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. It is used to determine if candidates for teacher positions are qualified. CTET is held twice a year and is intended for teachers who desire to teach in classes 1-8.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 are the two types of CTET tests. Paper 1 is given by candidates who intend to teach in classes 1-5. Paper 2 is taken by candidates who intend to teach in classes 6-8.

Eligibility Criteria for CTET Exam:

A CTET certificate is required for teaching candidates who want to work in government or government-aided schools. The CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 are based on three primary factors, and to be considered for final selection, candidates must meet the CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 listed below-

Educational Qualification: According to NCTE, candidates who are enrolled in any Teacher Training Course (TTC) are considered “Pursuing” and are eligible to apply for the CTET Exam 2025. The CTET Qualification for CTET 2025 is explained below.

Eligibility Criteria for Paper 1-

Candidates applying to teach in primary schools in classes 1–5 must review the CTET Qualification for Paper 1.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as defined by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree program. OR
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) passed or appearing in the final year. OR
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and graduation with at least 50% marks

Eligibility Criteria for Paper 2-

Candidates applying to teach in government schools in classes 6–8 must first review the CTET Qualification for Paper 2.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree program. OR
At least 50% in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and passing or appearing in the last year of a 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed./B. Sc. Ed. Programme OR
Candidates can apply for TET/CTET if they have completed a qualifying B.Ed. program approved by the NCTE. OR
Passing the one-year B.Ed. program (Special Education) or appearing in it, along with a minimum of 50% marks. OR
Post-graduation applicant with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

Nationality: To be eligible for the CTET Exam 2025, candidates must fulfill the CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025. At any point during the selection process, a candidate’s candidature may be terminated if they do not match the following nationality requirements. Below is a list of the CTET Nationality Criteria for 2025.

A citizen of India.
A subject of Nepal and Bhutan.
An Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East American countries of Kenya, Uganda, and The United Republic of Tanzania with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Refuges of Tibet who moved to India before 01 January 1962 and settled.

Age Limit: The age limit to apply for the CTET Exam 2024 is not specified. Applicants may retake the exam as many times as necessary to raise their CTET score. The age limit to apply for the CTET Exam 2024 is not applicable.

Reservations for PWD, Transgender, OBC, SC, ST, and other reserved categories do not have any reservation requirements. Despite this, they received a 5% increase in the minimum qualifying score needed to sit for the CTET exam in 2025.
